CHILDREN’S, YOUTH AND READY-TO-GROW CHOIR REGISTRATION  NOW OPEN!!

 Registration is now open for the 2007 - 2008 year of the St. Francis Xavier Children’s and Youth Choirs, and the Ready-to-Grow choirs.

 The Children’s Choir for grades 2 - 4 rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.  The Youth Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m.  These two choirs begin September 19th in September, and concludes the first week in May.  The choirs will sing at Mass, other liturgies and venues in the parish and at Holy Name Cathedral.

 Choir members receive their own music binder, a royal blue choir robe to wear for the year, and have their photo taken for our Choir Banner in the vestibule of the Church.

 Ready-to-Grow, the newest choir for Kindergarten and first graders, will have three sessions, beginning October 17^th and will rehearse from 5-5:30 on Wednesday evenings. 

Mrs. Beverly Baar will be returning for her 7^th year as the director of the choir.  Mrs. Baar holds a graduate degree in church music and an undergraduate degree in music education.  Mrs. Baar serves on the board of the American Choral Director’s Association Central Division as Repertoire and Standards Chair for Children’s Choruses.  She has over 30 years experience in the church as choir director and organist including the director of the Jubilate Children’s Chorus.  When time allows, she is also in demand as a private voice and piano teacher and choral clinician.

 The Music Director at Holy Name Cathedral had this to say about our choir:  “Their singing was exquisite.  The musicality, healthy singing and good vocal technique is evidence of great training.  St. Francis Children’s and Youth Choir was one of the very best we have had here at the Cathedral.”
