St. Francis Xavier Staff

St. Francis Xavier Parish is blessed with the talents of some exceptional pastoral ministers dedicated to Christian service and evangelization.

Pastor:

Fr. William J. Sheridan Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish since August, 2001. Previously, Fr. Sheridan had served as associate pastor of Holy Name Cathedral Parish, Chicago. Fr. Sheridan had also been an instructor at St. Joseph Seminary. Ordained in 1972, Fr. Sheridan is assuming the leadership of this vibrant faith community.

Associate Pastor:

Fr. Przemek (Peter) Wojcik - joined St. Francis as a traditional deacon in Feb. 2008 and was appointed Associate Pastor on July 1, 2008. Fr. Wojcik has a Master of Divinity from St. Mary of the Lake University and is pursuing a degree in spiritual direction from IPF Creighton University, Omaha. As Associate Pastor Fr. Peter works closely with Fr. Sheridan providing spiritual and educational service to God’s people in Wilmette. Fr. Peter’s vocation Statement comes from St. Paul’s letter to the Galatians: “I live now, not I, but Christ lives in me” (Gal. 2:20)

Pastoral Associates:

Sr. Joyce Shanabarger, OSF serves as our Asst. Director of Religious Education and First Reconciliation & Eucharist Coordinator as well as the RCIA program for adults interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Sr. Joyce also holds a Masters in Spirituality and is active in Spiritual Direction.

Sr. Joyce oversees First Steps in Christ program designed to help parents of toddlers in their duties as Christian parents. This program promotes the spiritual relationship between parents and pre-school children.

Sr. Mary Ann Casey, OP Sr. Casey serves as Director of our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) and Confirmation Coordinator. Sr. Casey holds a Masters in Religious Education from the University of San Francisco , San Francisco, CA.

Mrs. Patty Jane Pelton holds a doctorate in Ministry from University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein and serves as program director for Action - our high school youth program.

SFX School:

Daniel McKenna serves as the School Principal.

Other Ministers:

Fr. Edward Harnett, Pastor Emeritus retired from his duties as pastor at St. Francis Xavier after 17 years of exemplary leadership. Though technically retired, Fr. Harnett remains very active in the parish.

Fr. Richard Jakubik is in residence at St. Francis Xavier.

Debbie Armenta serves as Director of the Ministry of Care. Debbie has been a part of the St. Francis community since 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Human Services from Franciscan University, Steubenville, Ohio and a Masters in Pastoral Theology from St. Mary of the Woods College, St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana.

Jo Ebert serves as the Director of Music Ministries and Director of our Adult Choir and coordinating the musical program in the parish. She is assisted by our principal organist Judy Krugman.

Sarah Smith serves as Director of the Children's Choir.
