The rosary is a devotion prayed in honor of Mary, the Mother of God. The four sets of mysteries help us to remember the life of Christ and Mary, His mother. They are the joyful, sorrowful, glorious and luminous mysteries. The devotion has brought comfort and healing to many through the years. It is a private devotion, but can also be prayed in common by the faithful.
The rosary is prayed in common at St. Francis Xavier Church at 8:00 a.m. on Mondays through Saturdays. Those leading the rosary usually gather in the front section nearest the Virgin Mary’s statue. The rosary is completed before the 8:15 daily Mass begins.
When a special need arises, the rosary is prayed after the 8:15 Mass. Anyone is free to organize the second rosary for a special intention. The invitaton is spread person-to-person.
Everyone is welcome to join in the prayer.
