Ministry of Care at St. Francis Xavier

We accompany and follow Jesus,
but above all we know that Jesus accompanies us,
and carries us on his shoulders.
This is our joy;
this is the hope that we must bring to this world.

(Pope Francis)

     Through his words, Pope Francis sums up what Ministry of Care at St. Francis Xavier embodies. Jesus came not only to heal the sick, but to bring all of humanity into a deeper and more personal relationship with God. Jesus came to bring Hope.
     As the Body of Christ, Ministers of Care bring Hope each time they minister in the community. 80 commissioned Ministers of Care bring the Real Presence to the homebound and ill of our faith community. Ministers visit the sick in the hospitals, Senior Living Facilities, and in the homes of those who cannot come to Church to participate in the Eucharistic Celebration at Mass. Ministers are dedicated to serving the spiritual needs of those who cannot come to the Table. Through this ministry, they witness the healing reality of Christ in the context of a Christian relationship.

     If you or a family member would like one of our ministers to pray with you and bring the Eucharist, please call the Ministry of Care office at 847-256-2273 X0. We will arrange for a minister to come until you are able to return to Mass.
